Disability is diversity: A force that moves us forward

RIKEN’s measures to promote the employment of people with disabilities

RIKEN aims to create a society in which everyone—regardless of disability—can fully demonstrate their strengths and aptitudes, thrive as independent members of society, and maintain stable working lives within their communities. In alignment with the SDGs’ commitment to “leaving no one behind” and the basic principles of Diversity & Inclusion—embracing, recognizing, and valuing individual differences—we actively promote the employment of people with disabilities.

Establishment of Administrative Support Office

RIKEN has established an Administrative Support Office to ensure smooth operational support across the institute and to promote the active participation of employees with disabilities. Employees hired in the Administrative Support Office work as Administrative Support Office Employees and handle a variety of tasks, including data entry and aggregation, converting laboratory notebooks and other documents into PDF format, and creating business cards.
Administrative Support Offices are currently in place at both the Wako and Yokohama campuses.
